Carlo Bonferroni was born in Bergamo Italy on January 28, 1892. He held academic positions at Turin Polytechnic, the Economics Institute in Bari, and the University of Florence.
Bonferroni is best known for the probability inequalities that bear his name, originally published in 1935 and 1936. Bonferroni also worked on problems in the foundations of probability. He died on August 18, 1960 in Florence, Italy.
