His Station and Four Aces

Description

His Station and Four Aces (c. 1903) is one of a series of 16 paintings by Coolidge on Dogs Playing Poker. The series was commissioned in 1903 by the advertising firm Brown & Bigelow to sell cigars. The dog with the four aces is presumably upset because he will have to get off of the train at his station before the hand is completed.
