Finite Order Statistic Experiment

Description

The experiment consists of selecting \(n\) balls at random (without replacement) from a population of \(m\) balls, numbered from 1 to \(m\). For \(k \in \{1, 2, \ldots, n\}\), random variable \(X\) denotes the \(k\)th order statistic (the \(k\)th smallest number in the sample). Random variable \[U = \frac{n + 1}{k} X - 1\] is an unbiased estimator of the population size \(m\). These variables are recorded in the data table, and the distribution of \(X\) is described in the distribution graph and the first distribution table. The distribution of \(U\) is described in the second distribution table. The parameters \(m\), \(n\), and \(k\) can be varied with input controls.
